Introduction
For clean fuel and better life in May 2016, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural gas, introduced the PM Ujjawala Yojana as a flagship scheme in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi.
The release in the first phase of 8 crores LPG connections under the scheme has increased LPG coverage from 62% to 99.8%.
With the huge success of the flagship, scheme government released an additional 1 crore LPG connections in Union Budget for FY 2021-22. In this phase, a special facility has been given to migrant families.
Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi will launch Ujjwala 2.0 at Mahoba Uttar Pradesh on 10th August 2021
Eligibility Criteria
- An adult woman belonging to any of the categories:-
- SC households
- ST household
- Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin)
- Most Backward Classes
- Who belong to Antyodaya Anna Yojana
- Forest Dwellers
- People who reside in islands and river Islands
- Socio-Economic and caste census households (SECC)
- Poor Households as per 14- point declaration
- Woman applicant must have attained 18 years.
- There should not be any other LPG connection in the same household.
Required Documents

Customer benefits
Cash assistance for PM Ujjawala Yojana (PMUY) connections is provided by the government of India- Rs. 1600-14.2 kg cylinder connection/ Rs. 1150 – 5kg cylinder connection.
The cash assistance covers:-.

All Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries will be provided the first LPG Refill and stove free of cost along with their deposit-free connection by Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs).
